Sneaker addiction + Cyclist = DZR shoes
My husband is one of the few men out there that admit to being picky about style and clothing. Not only does something need to be stylish but also efficient. A common theme is clothing with more than one use. While combo apparel is normally hard to find, DZRShoes has succeeded in style and purpose.
DZRShoes is a company striving for superior bicycling shoes without compromise to style. They offer a few different types of shoes some that allow the addition of cleats, some that don’t, some that are waterproof and some that aren’t. Almost all of the styles have that hipster flair but with so much more functionality than the average sneaker. These shoes are perfect for going to work, and then cycling the roughest terrain right after with a perfectly smooth transition.
Walk into Banker Supply Co. in Echo Park and you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd just entered an exhibition space instead of a new bike store.
The “cycling lifestyle” boutique, as it's described by founder Nick Drombosky, opened for business last month in an 1,800-square-foot space with high ceilings, white walls and concrete flooring that showcases about a dozen bikes, racks of stylish clothing and footwear designed for everyday urban biking.
The apparel includes San Francisco-brand Parker Dusseau's dress shirts made from antimicrobial performance fabrics, and shoes from DZR — which look like regular street shoes but are designed for pedals. There are also accessories like sleek titanium locks and a special wax that adheres eyeglasses to the face.
A small remote town in Tasmania is building a mountain biking Eldorado with a stunning network of purpose-built flow trails.
It was really cool to get these three guys - Cam McCaul, Tyler McCaul and Brett Rheeder together for this video shoot last year. With these guys riding together there is never a dull moment.

I was a tad late after realizing, once in my garage, I had to switch pedals out from my polo bike to my Trek since it was dry and most of the salt was gone to rock the DZR Marcos (with custom green board paint splatter). I was gonna need all the gears I could get fighting this Nor’easter. I met Christian for the first time, the photographer for this, outside Blackbird for the (mis)adventure we were embarking on. We had a goal of reaching 10 bars. I’ll be honest we only made it to 8. I could have added a few more bars to this report that people who ride bikes frequent and that incentivize showing up by bike. Don’t get me wrong, more bars could be more bike friendly, as the city itself could. Overall though each year I see more riders I don’t know in the streets and more support from bar owners to cater to those who choose to ride there. These are my personal highly rated ones. Have one to suggest or disagree with me? Go to your favorite bike friendly bar, buy a drink and let them know you rode and appreciate their support. Or politely suggest to them how to improve. From out of town? This is a good guide to get you started.
The 5 borough bike tour is an annual 40 miles closed course ride throughout New York city attended by upwards of 40,000 riders. In conjunction with the ride Bike New York holds their annual Bike Expo. The expo is where all registered riders must show up to grab their registration packet. 60,000+ attendees and over 100 brands was enough for us to pack our bags and get on a flight to New York City.
The event was great! We met a lot of people from all over. Thanks to everyone who came by the booth.
Check out this awesome article written about DZR rider Tyler McCaul on Pinkbike.
Being Cam McCaul’s younger brother wasn’t always easy for Tyler McCaul, “I used to get heckled by kids daily saying that the only reason I had sponsors was because I had a 'famous' brother.”

When people think of Minneapolis it's usually about our weather. Not about how perfect we have it in the spring, summer and fall, but about the brutal cold we endure anywhere from 4-6 months of the year. Even with that we still manage to get on with our normal lives. We're constantly in a battle for Best Cycling City in the country with Portland and Austin, and with all that cycling comes drinking. When the weather is nice we like to grab a 6-pack and go down to the nearest lake or park and enjoy the warmth, but when the cold comes back we head indoors for some brews. Here are some of the places we like to ride to the most.
